As part of the Erasmus+ project "Enviros for a Sustainable Future", teachers participated in a five-day educational visit held at Soke BAĞARASI HÜRRİYET İLKOKULU in Türkiye. The activities focused on water protection, sustainability, environmental awareness, and digital innovation.

During the visit, participants used water quality testing devices and mobile apps to collect and digitally record water data. They collaboratively analyzed results and created interactive maps using GIS and online mapping tools to highlight key problem areas and prioritize future clean-up actions.

Using online calculators and water usage apps, students explored their water consumption and learned to apply basic formulas to understand broader water use patterns. To raise awareness, they launched a campaign against water waste, recording short videos for the first episode of a student-led environmental series titled "Enviros in Water, Air, Food Waste, and Recycling". A virtual webinar with a water expert offered additional insight into practical ways of saving water in daily life.

Hands-on experimental workshops, led by Turkish teachers using the Kolb Experiential Learning Model, allowed students to explore environmental issues such as acid rain formation and oil pollution in oceans. They tested how combustion gases affect water pH and studied oil retention in water. They also used online biodiversity databases and EPA wetland mapping resources to learn about local wetland plants and animals, and shared findings about rainwater harvesting and its importance in agriculture.

Students also engaged in creative and digital tasks, designing rain gardens using tools like SketchUp and Canva. They developed educational Scratch animations focused on proper water-saving habits and used social media to share photos and videos of aquatic life to promote environmental awareness.

The visit concluded with students recording podcasts on the topic of using water wisely. Using research tools, they selected suitable plant species for riverbank restoration projects and presented the environmental benefits of each choice.

This enriching experience provided valuable knowledge, hands-on skills, and international collaboration, empowering students to take an active role in building a sustainable future and protecting natural water ecosystems.
